Natural Foot Odor Remedies

Foot odor is a type of body odor that affects the feet of humans and is generally considered to be an unpleasant smell. Foot odor is common when you wear shoes that don’t “breathe”. Foot odor is caused by bacteria that reproduce rapidly. Foot odor is one of the toughest problems to overcome mostly because there has been little research into the condition.

A podiatrist can help you diagnose your foot odor problem and identify any biological sources of odor or infection, as well as help you develop a treatment plan to get rid of your foot odor for good. Putting inserts in shoes will mask part of the problem, but they won’t solve it as they fail to kill bacteria. This is why you should seek more effective methods to eliminate the root cause of this embarrassing condition.

Systemic elimination of foot odor is possible through the regulated use of many of the herbal remedies given here.

If used continuously for several weeks at a stretch, the herbal extracts of sage will prove itself to be an excellent remedy in the elimination of foot odor.

To control the odor, soak your feet several times a week in one-third cup of apple cider vinegar added to a small pan of warm water.

Mix one teaspoon with one or two gallons of water in a container with Alum , and soak your feet for 30 minutes. After, rinse with clear water; repeat after four days. Doing this for a month should get rid of your foot odor.

Baking soda is another effective remedy for this condition. If you sprinkle it in your shoes daily, it should help to absorb the odor.

Boil a quart of water and add 5 black tea bags. After the water cools, soak your feet for 30 minutes. Tannin’s in the tea are astringent, which will prevent your feet from perspiring.

To fight fungal infection, eat natural, plain yogurt containing living culture or drink kefir daily.

Juice two dozen radishes, add a quarter teaspoon of glycerine, and put in a squirt or spray-top bottle. Use as an underarm deodorant or to reduce foot odor.
Take a zinc supplement, or try to ensure that you are getting at least 15 milligrams in your multi-vitamin. This remedy should reduce or eliminate the odor within a week or two. The zinc may make the skin more resistant to the bacteria causing the odor.

Always consult with your herbalist or healthcare professional if you believe your condition to be chronic.

Premium Costs

Premium Costs

Insurance provider, AA recently brought out a report, which looked into the different factors that effect the price of car insurance premiums, and found that the parking place for a car has significant effects on the price of the policy, particularly in city areas.

Cars that were kept in a garage, enabled drivers to save around seven per cent on their annual premiums; if they live in rural areas, while drivers who lived in inner city areas, saved a staggering 35 per cent on the car insurance if they parked their cars in a garage.

Due to the fact that parking in a garage is seen as a safer option than parking on a street, the premiums can be lower. Parking on a driveway was also said to be safer than parking on the streets, so the relating premiums could also be cheaper.

The study, conducted by AA Personal Loans, showed that 43 per cent of participants whose cars had been damaged were parked on a residential street at the time.

Some of the most dangerous places to keep a car, were said to be car parks, particularly multi-storey car parks. However, the research showed that drivers were twice as likely to have damage done to their cars on a residential street - were cars are said to be at a higher risk of being vandalised or damaged - as in a supermarket car park and more than three times more likely than if their car was kept in a multi-storey car park.

If a garage is not available as a parking option, a doctor’s surgery, hospital car park, outside a school, in an airport car park or outside of a restaurant, were seen as some of the safest places to park a car. With only 3 per cent of vandalism happening to cars, that were parked in this area.

AA Insurance also recommended parking in car parks, which are well lit and have good use of security features such as CCTV. Furthermore simple precautions like folding in side mirrors in, can reduce the risk of being knocked off or damaged.

Mark Huggins of AA Personal Loans said: “A car is a serious investment and finding it vandalised is frustrating, heartbreaking and of course expensive. If you are paying for your car with a personal loan, the last thing you want is the added financial burden of sorting out repairs so it’s worth thinking about where you park.”

Mr Huggins also added: “If you are out and about, choose well-lit car parks preferably with good security such as CCTV even if it means a bit of a walk or a higher parking fee.”

Research from car insurance provider, FancyAcar reported that, having an engine immobiliser or alarm fitted can decrease the risk of a car being stolen and thus lead to a lower car insurance premium.

Further to this it was found that the occupation of the policy holder also affected the price of premium. A person with a desk job, implies a low risk job, however a job that involved using your car would present a higher risk to insurance companies.

Other factors such as the policy holders marital status, the car’s insurance group and type of insurance along with the number of miles that will be driven in a year, also affect the total cost of the car insurance policy.

Data Recovery and the Dark Side of Web 2 0

Data Recovery and the Dark Side of Web 2.0

OK hands up everyone who has heard of the phrase Web 2.0? Everyone, good, means that we are all paying attention then. Unless you have either juts arrived on Planet Earth from the Planet Zanussi or have been sheltering under a rock for the past couple of years then you would have been hard pressed not to have heard of the phrase Web 2.0?

It was supposed to be the panacea to all Internet ills and the ultimate answer to all marketers’ dreams. It was also supposed to make our daily lives and the way we interact with each other online so much more complete and intuitive.

Well if we are honest the jury is still out on most of these issues as yes good old Web 2.0 and its sites do tick some of the boxes but as in all good things when it comes to mankind, why do we never quit when we are ahead?

By this I mean that there are some cracking sites out there with some extremely useful features and functions but as in all cases, sooner or later along come a bunch of folks who proceed to screw it up for everyone else.

Hands up those who know anything about Facebook?

Good, lots of you and this is good as it means that the PR people behind Facebook have been doing their job so bonuses all round, we can all afford to stand up properly for a change!

Hands up all of you who understand properly the way that all of those nice cute little applications on Facebook work when all your mates keep sending you cute and cuddly little virtual friends and flowers, exploding eggs, plants whatever?

Hmnnnn. Not quite as many as who answered in the affirmative the first time round. Not so good, as there are a number of reasons why you should be aware of how they and other applications like them work.

As I switch on and log into my Facebook account (yes I have one) I can’t help but notice the growing number of cute and cuddly wee applications that keep cropping up when people sent me items. Now this is all very nice and it does indeed keep you all warm and fuzzy inside to know that people care but there is a more insidious side to all of this. Every time you try and open a “hatching egg” or a growing plant” you are asked to download and open an application to run these gifts. Hidden behind the scenes in some of these applications are bots and crawlers who are unleashed onto your hard drive, email in box or wherever they can go to “mine” personal data and store this data. Yes folks you have just been the victim in some cases of the first stages of Identity Theft. In the worst cases your hard drive may be infected and you are on the slippery slope to your data being harvested and the hard drive roasted and fried.

Not a nice picture is it and one that the folks behind Facebook (and others) are less likely to portray? The trouble is that a lot of these applications are third party applications that are not hosted on Facebook’s own servers and as such Facebook and its personnel have no control over what is going on by and large.

Welcome to the hidden dark side of Web 2.0, where it is all too easy to submerge yourself into a collective consciousness and forget about how you may be exposing yourself to hidden theft.

Now if you are the victim of this type of Internet Mugging and yes you have suffered data loss as a result. What are you going to do now?

Stephen Morgan writes regularly on such matters and more can be found on Hard Drive Recovery and at http://www.diskdoctors.net is a company that assists consumers to make educated decisions about their domestic or commercial energy needs.
